IHDA Annual Award Program (Revised 7/07)

Year-end awards will be:

=Highest overall points from the Open Class

=Second highest overall points from the Open Class

=Highest overall points from the Pro-Novice Class

=Highest overall points from the Novice Class

=Highest overall points from the Beginner Class (certificate)

Handlers must be IHDA members at the time of entry onto the trial arena/field to be eligible for points toward IHDA annual awards..

 Handlers may enter dogs at whatever level they feel is appropriate per type of stock.  Dogs must stay at that level or be entered at a higher level on an annual basis (per type of stock).

The 6 trials are:

Scoring will be as follows [Only IHDA members as defined above will be counted in placement for points.  Example:  10 entries, IHDA members place overall 2, 4, 7, 8.  These would be counted as first, second and third places in calculating points.  Note that 60% of the points are at the Open level and 40% at the Pro-novice/novice level.]

For a 2-level event (e.g. Novice/Open) = 25 points total

1^st place open = 7 points

2^nd place open = 5 points

3^rd place open = 3 points

1^st place novice = 6 points

2^nd place novice = 3 points

3^rd place novice = 1 point

For a 3-level event (e.g. Novice/Pro Novice/Advanced) = 25 points total

1^st place open = 7 points

2^nd place open = 5 points

3^rd place open = 3 points

1^st place pro novice = 4 points

2^nd place pro novice = 2 points

3^rd place pro novice = 1 point

^1stplace novice = 1.5 points

2^nd place novice = 1 point

3^rd place novice = 0.5 point

The IHDA Board of Directors will make final decisions in regard to interpretation of the regulations governing this program.

A trial committee will be established to review the IHDA Awards Program and revise as necessary for 2004.  This committee will also administer the IHDA Awards Program for 2004.
