There
will be two classes, Beginners and Advanced.
The trial will start at 1 p.m. in the Grand Stand at the fairgrounds.
Beginners
Class: There is a ten-dog limit. Awards
will be dependent upon the number of entries.
There will be a 100% payback with placements to 3rd
place. The trial course based on an
ASCA type course with a gather, go through two obstacles, pen, and then a
re-pen.
Advanced
Class: There is a ten-dog limit. Awards
will be dependent upon the number of entries with a 100% payback with
placements to 3rd place. The trial course will be ASCA type course
with a center pen, two obstacles, ribbon pull and a re-pen.
Three
sheep will be used per run. These are
hair and wool sheep. All runs are
timed and there is a 10-minute time limit and the quickest time will win. No
scoring system used.
All
of the sheep need to go through an obstacle before you can move onto the next
obstacle. There will be two attempts
allowed at any one obstacle, if you cannot get the sheep through the obstacle
then your run is over. The time starts
once the dog leaves your side to pick up the sheep. Time will stop when the re-pen gate is shut. There is a 10-minute limit and you will be
given a two-minute warning.
For
the first two obstacles handlers must stay on one side of the pen. Stepping over the boundary incurs a 30
second penalty. Once the sheep have
cleared the 2nd obstacle, then you may open the pen to pen the
sheep. You must get all of the sheep
through an obstacle before you can move onto the next obstacle. You will drive the sheep through each of the
obstacles, pen them and then there will be a ribbon pull before you
re-pen. Time starts when the dog leaves
your side to pick the sheep. There is a
10-minute limit and you will be given a two-minute warning. Time will stop when the re-pen gate is shut.
