Jack Knox

Stock Dog Training and Judging Workshop

January 5th, 2008 - 9 am

Tingley Community Center, Tingley, IA

Jack Knox is not only known for being a two-time USBCHA National finals champion and an ABCA Hall of Fame handler/trainer, but he is also respected internationally as a pioneer among sheepdog clinic instructors. His methods of "making the wrong difficult and the right easy" are highly effective as his students have demonstrated, several going on to the very top of competition, not to mention the many useful stockdogs he's helped to groom.

Join us for a day of discussion about stock dog training and judging in a classroom format led by Jack Knox.  All levels of handlers are welcome, this workshop will cover many aspects of stockdog training and the relationships between handler and dog along with the relationship between dog and livestock.  Regardless of the breed of herding dog or livestock you own, this workshop will give you insight to proper livestock handling methods and how it relates to training practices and judging views in all levels of trial competition.

We will begin at 9am and break for a potluck lunch, please bring a dish to share.

Fee to attend workshop:  $50.00, please RSVP Bob Johnson if you plan on attending by December 21st, 2007.  In the event that there is not enough interest, minimum 25 attendees, the workshop is subject to cancellation.
